ButterSponge was founded in 1985 in the heart of Bengaluru, originally located on Vanivillas Road, opposite National College in Basavanagudi, and also found its place in the hearts of Bengalureans.
Established as an offshoot of VB Bakery, ButterSponge was created with a vision to offer fresh, innovative products with a new approach to merchandising.
For over three decades, we served our consumer community with a wide array of new baked goods, from cakes to cookies, a variety of bread to rolls—constantly evolving to meet the tastes of the times. In 2022 we relocated to South End Road, ensuring that our customers continue to enjoy our handcrafted products in a modern, welcoming environment.
While we've faced challenges, including efforts by competitors to infringe on our name, we have successfully protected our legacy and brand through legal action (although they are continuing to indulge in this illegal activity). Despite these challenges, our commitment to authenticity and innovation is making impossible for these competitors to imitate us.
As stated earlier, ButterSponge was founded to offer new products that align with the taste of the times. With this vision in mind and the contemporary trends of new millennials, we have introduced new varieties of cakes, cookies, bread, buns, rolls and exotic sandwiches. None of these goodies are available elsewhere in Bangalore and quite possibly, unavailable anywhere else in the country.
